Applicants for the Southern Nytes Award must meet all of the following to qualify for an award. Otherwise the site will be disqualified
- This award is for personal homepages only. We do not award commercial sites .
- Applicant is the owner and creator of the Site submitted.
- Applicant is 14 years of age or older.
- Site is free of Adult or Sexually Explicit Material. Exceptions to this rule are Professional Photography and Art Sites, as long as they are done in a tasteful format.
- Site does not overuse vulgarity or profanity.
- Site is free of any type of hatred/predjudice against any person or group of people.
- Site does not show or promote abuse of animals.
- Site is free of Under Construction areas or "coming soon" areas.
- Site has a separate award page to display awards won. This page should be easily accesible from the navigation or first page. If your site has not won any awards, you should still have a page in place to display awards.
- Site has content. Links to other sites is not content.
- Site is in English or has an English version.
- Site is free of any type of automatic pop-ups (unless server required), or Java Prompts.
- Site is free of cursor trailers.
- Site does not crash or freeze my browser more than once.
- Site is free of password areas or members only areas.
- Site is not a forum, chat or link site.
- Sites labeled as ICRA,SafeSurf---must validate.

- Site does not have more than 5 broken external links.
- Site does not have flashing backgrounds or flashing text.
- The right click of mouse is not disabled.
- The URL of the site has not changed since application was made.
- Application form must be filled out completely and correctly.
